Q: What is 925 sterling silver? How is it different from 990? 925 sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver, which is the internationally recognized standard for high-quality silver jewelry. Since 990 fine silver (99% silver) is extremely soft, trace alloys are added to create 925 sterling silver. This maintains the skin-friendly and hypoallergenic properties of pure silver while significantly increasing its hardness to craft more delicate designs. MYSOUL's sterling silver jewelry is made entirely of solid silver, not a cheap alloy or copper base plated with silver.
Q: Will sterling silver jewelry cause allergies? 925 sterling silver is highly skin-friendly and hypoallergenic, making it comfortable for the vast majority of our customers to wear. Q: Will pure silver oxidize and tarnish? How should I clean it? When pure silver is exposed to air, moisture, or sweat, its surface will naturally oxidize and darken. This is a natural physical phenomenon of solid silver, not rust.
- Daily Cleaning: Simply gently buff the jewelry with the Silver Polishing Cloth included in your order to instantly restore its shine. For heavier tarnishing, you can use a small amount of toothpaste with a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently clean it, then rinse with water and wipe dry.
- Storage Tips: To keep your jewelry in its best condition, please store it in a sealed ziplock bag when not in use. Keeping it dry will significantly slow down the oxidation process.
Q: Can I wear pure silver while showering or getting it wet? Solid silver can withstand clean water, but please avoid contact with hot springs, seawater, or chemicals (such as perfumes and shower gels). If it gets wet, simply wipe it dry as soon as possible.
